OUR STORY

It started like any typical school day morning, but Taylor Lynn did not feel well. I went in to check on her and realized something serious was going on.

She was taken to the local hospital and then airlifted to the Oakland children’s hospital. The diagnosis was a rare type of brain aneurysm.

Taylor Lynn passed away unexpectedly on March 22, 2008. She was only fourteen years old.

The world as many knew it changed drastically that day. The real meaning of time… how we spend our precious time… and the reality of our own mortality were forever planted in our minds.

Taylor was a beautiful, bright and strong willed young woman who was a born leader. She was too young to think “there wasn’t a goal she couldn’t attain” or that perhaps, “she couldn’t find the time to attain that goal”. If there was something to be done or created, she just applied herself and enlisted the help of her friends. Her gregarious personality was infectious. Her goal was to “make the world a better place” and Taylor Lynn Foundation will achieve her goal one day, one month and one year at a time.

Taylor Lynn Foundation is focused on enhancing the lives of children, while at the same time educating individuals to “Take a moment to give back.” Taylor Lynn Foundation provides microGRANTS to children which range from $100 to $1000. These microGRANTS allow children to participate in events or activities they would not have access to otherwise.

To show appreciation for each microGRANT received, each child creates their own way to give back to the community with the assistance of their sponsor. This way children who receive microGRANTS understand what it means to give as well as receive. This unique concept allows each of the Taylor Lynn Foundation microGRANTS to impact the lives of at least two people.

Taylor Lynn Foundation seeks to discover and nurture all the ‘good’ things in life. Turning the bad, into amazing!” It is the difference we make in our lives that will set precedence. We live to decorate the lives of those we encounter on our journey.

I want to thank you for your interest and support of Taylor Lynn Foundation.
